All Personal Plan members receive unlimited telephone and office consultations at no charge*. This means you can call or visit an attorney whenever the need arises. Having the benefit of being able to call an attorney and get quick advice helps to keep a small legal issue from developing into larger, more costly one. If your personal issue requires more than just advice, you will receive free time with the attorney of your choice from within our participating attorney network. The amount of free time each issue receives depends on the details of the case; the more complex the legal issue, the more free time the issue receives. Consider this simple example:
"Cheryl was on her way to work when the truck ahead of her in traffic stopped
to make a turn. She began to slow and came to a complete stop. The person
behind her didn't realize that she was stopping until the last minute and drove
into the back of her car."
If this example actually took place, Cheryl would need an attorney to help recover the cost of fixing her car as well as compensation for any injuries. As a plan member, she would receive free representation time by an attorney for this type of issue. If the matter is resolved within the allotted amount of free time she would pay nothing for the services of the attorney. If the issue takes more than the allotted hours she would only pay for the exceeded amount of time.
The more complex the legal issue, the more time your will receive. For example, something simple (like an employee speeding ticket) would receive a smaller amount of free time. Something more complex (like a liability issue) would receive much more free time.
There is no limit to the number of times your business can use the plan each year. This means that you can call or visit an attorney any time your business has a legal issue for matters as simple as a quick question or as complex as a potential lawsuit.
