Open Enrollment Begins for Council 94 - A.F.S.C.M.E. Members

The annual open enrollment period for all Rhode Island Council 94, A.F.S.C.M.E. members will begin on November 1, 2009, and will continue though December 18, 2009.  Anyone who belongs to this union who is interested in enrolling in the group legal option of their union benefit package must do so no later than this date. To enroll, simply contact us either via telephone or email. This will be the only open enrollment until this time next year.

Already have group legal payroll deducted?  If so, you should be aware of two VERY IMPORTANT facts.

First, the group legal plan that is offered through payroll deduction is NOT this plan (the union-endorsed plan).  It is a similar type of a group legal plan that is offered to you by the state as part of your state benefit package.

IF  YOU HAVE YOUR GROUP LEGAL PAYROLL DEDUCTED IT IS NOT THIS PLAN.

Second, the plan offered through your union, includes many areas of law that are excluded with the state payroll-deducted plan including job-related issues. Below is a list of the areas that are included in the ALSI plan but are not included in the payroll-deducted plan offered by the state as well as some other important facts.

After this time no applications will be accepted until next year's open enrollment.
